How to
How to use the dummy text generator
Fill the places where copy will go before the real text arrives. Use it to preview text length, line breaks and fonts in detail pages, posters and web or app mockups.
- Pick a language: Korean, Latin Lorem Ipsum, English, Japanese or Simplified Chinese.
- Choose paragraphs or sentences and set the count: 1 to 50 paragraphs with 1 to 12 sentences each, or 1 to 50 sentences.
- Turn on extras if needed: Latin text can start with "Lorem ipsum...", and each paragraph can be wrapped in an HTML <p> tag for web work.
- Press "Generate" and copy the result. The character count is shown above it, plus the word count for languages that use spaces.
Which language to choose
- Korean: real Korean sentences, so letter spacing and line breaks look close to the final copy. Suits Korean detail pages and banners.
- Lorem Ipsum: meaningless Latin that cannot be read, so viewers focus on layout and type instead of content.
- English: check the length and flow of real English sentences in English layouts.
- Japanese and Chinese: test line breaks for fixed-width CJK characters.
- Sentences are shuffled every time. If you need the same result again, copy it right after generating.
- What is Lorem Ipsum?
- Lorem Ipsum is meaningless Latin text used to fill the places where copy will go in print and design work. Because it cannot be read, viewers look at the type and layout instead of the content.
- How is the Korean dummy text made?
- It randomly picks and joins natural Korean sentences prepared in advance. Because they are real sentences, you can check Korean letter spacing, line height and line breaks close to how the final copy will look.
- When should I wrap the text in HTML tags?
- Use it when you paste straight into the HTML view of a web page or blog editor. Each paragraph comes wrapped in a <p> tag, and in sentence mode the whole text is wrapped in one <p> tag.
- Do I need to install anything or sign in?
- No. It runs directly in your browser and is free without signing in. The text is made inside your browser and is never sent to a server.
