How to use the WebP frame extractor
Split an animated WebP into individual images. Use it to pull out a single scene, edit frames in another program before rebuilding the animation, or check how long each frame is shown.
- Drag in a WebP file or pick it with "Choose a file". The resolution, size, type (animated or static), frame count and length are shown.
- Choose PNG or JPG, and a scale of 100%, 75%, 50% or 25%.
- Press "Extract frames" to list every frame in order, each with its number and display time in ms.
- Save single frames with "Save", or get all of them with "Download as ZIP". Files are numbered in order, such as frame_0001.
Choosing format and scale
- PNG: no quality loss, and transparent backgrounds are kept. Best for frames you will edit or rebuild into another animation.
- JPG: smaller files for previews or sharing. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
- Scaling down shrinks every frame by the same ratio, which helps when a large animation with many frames makes a heavy ZIP.
- The ms value on each frame is how long it stays on screen. Use it to keep the same timing when you rebuild the animation.
- Static WebP files work too and are saved as a single PNG or JPG.
